New Telephone System for SIUC Begins in May, 2003

This is the first of several advisory bulletins containing important information about SIUC's new telephone system that will posted here. Please check back often for the latest information.

Date of Change - The change to the new telephone system is scheduled to occur at 10:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 29, 2003. There will be a short interruption in service on campus. Satellite locations at the Airport, Family Practice Center, and EDC will be out of service for a short time.
Telephone Instruments – No change. Your present telephone set will work the same as with the current system.
Telephone Features – No change in how you make a call or access a telephone system feature.
Long Distance Authorization Numbers – No change.
Voice Mail - The new voice mail system will require using different access methods than what is in place with the current voice mail service. More information about what you will need to do to change over to this new voice mail system will be provided in a future bulletin distributed to campus mailstops, as well as posted here.
New Applications & Features – These will be announced here, and will be introduced across campus on a planned basis beginning this summer.
