New Telephone System – Bulletin #2

This is the second advisory bulletin containing important information about SIUC's new telephone system that will be posted here. Please check back often for the latest information.

Interruption of Service - The change to the new telephone system is scheduled to occur at 10:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 29, 2003. Telephone service may be down intermittently from 10:00 p.m. until 2:00 a.m. This interruption of service will also include dial-up services on campus, such as AIS payroll, etc.

Emergency Service – For those planning to work on campus during this interruption of service, we want to be able to provide you with access to emergency services (911), if needed. If you will be working on campus during this time, please contact Telecommunications at 453-2484 to discuss arrangements or emergency telecommunications service during this brief period.

Voice Mail Change – The new voice mail system will require each voice mail user to re-initialize their voice mail box beginning on May 30. Further information on this new system will be posted on this website later.

Reprogramming Telephones – The following features will need to be reprogrammed after May 30: autodial numbers, speed call numbers, and call forwarding.
