Choose from one of the four levels of service:
Standard: $3.50
per month
- Includes: 1 minute message length, 15 maximum message
storage, 5 day new message storage, and 5 day saved message storage
Enhanced: $5.00 per month
- Includes: 3 minute message length, 25 maximum message
storage, 15 day new message storage, 5 group lists (for personal distribution), and future
delivery (for sending recorded messages up to 31 days later)
Executive: $5.00 per month
- Includes: 8 minute message length, 35 maximum message
storage, 30 day new message storage, 30 day saved message storage, 15 group lists, future
delivery, and message delivery (to analog pager or home telephone number)
Answer Only: $5.00 per month
- Caller cannot leave a message, this service simply plays an
outgoing message
Voice Mail Instructions
When the Voice Mailbox is installed on your line, you become
an authorized user of SIUC's Voice Mail. As a user, you have a personal voice
mailbox. You access this voice mailbox through your telephone by dialing the Voice
Mail Server's telephone number (453-5950) and entering your password and mailbox
number. At this point, you can enter commands for voice mail features you want to
use by pressing the keys on your touch-tone telephone.
I. Setting Up Your Voice Mail
**Listen to the voice
instructions carefully**
A. To Activate:
- Dial 453-5950
(The system will ask you for your password.)
- Dial your 7 digit phone number + pound (#).
(The system will ask for your mailbox number.)
- Dial your 7 digit phone number + pound (#).
(The system will ask you to change your password.)
- Dial any 4 to 8 digits you wish and press pound (#) to accept.
(This will be your new password.)
B. To Record Your Greeting:
- Dial 453-5950.
- Press (4) to access the greeting feature.
- To access your greeting, press (2).
(Your present greeting will be played for you. It is the
standard greeting.)
- Press (5) and record your greeting after the tone.
- Press pound (#) when finished.
C. To Retrieve Your Message:
- A fast busy signal will be heard when you have a message.
- Dial 453-5950.
- The system will ask you for your password + pound (#).
(Remember--your password will be your 7 digit phone number
until you change it.)
Your messages can be retrieved from any telephone. If you are calling from any
telephone
other than the one which you programmed, the system will ask you for your password and
your mailbox.
II. Sending Messages
**There are four steps**
A. Address the Message:
- Dial 453-5950.
- Enter your password.
- Dial the first mailbox or group number + pound (#).
(Dial the next mailbox number + pound (#) if applicable.)
- Press pound (#) when finished.
B. Recording Your Message:
- Press (5) to begin recording.
- Press pound (#) when finished.
C. Select Delivery Options:
- Once you have addressed and recorded your message, you can
decide how it should be sent. You can send it by regular delivery or you can select
one or more of the delivery options below.
- Private--Press (1).
(Private messages
cannot be copied to other mailboxes.)
- Future Delivery--Press (2).
(The system will prompt you to select the month, day, and time
for delivery)
- Non-Delivery Notification--Press (3).
(The system will check the recipient's mailbox 24 hours after
the message is delivered. If the message has not been opened, you will be notified.)
- Urgent Priority--Press (4).
(This message will be played before other new messages.)
D. Sending the Message:
- Press pound (#) to send the message.
- Press star (*) to cancel the message.
