The CICS News Facility (Viewing)
To enter the CICS News viewing facility, press PF11 from the CICS main menu screen or, from a blank screen, type in NEWS and press enter. The most recent news item that your userid can view will be displayed. With Scroll option 'P' filled in, you can press enter repeatedly to view the older news items. You can also overtype scroll option 'P' with other options or use corresponding PF keys indicated at the bottom of the news screen to view other news items.
To see the previous news item:
PF7 or option 'P'
For the next news item:
PF8 or option 'N'
For the latest news item:
PF10 or option 'L'
To see the oldest news item:
PF12 or option 'O'
To exit from the news facility:
CLEAR or option 'X'
There is a field to the right of the scroll option to add a beginning date in the form 'mm dd yy'. The screen is set up to automatically tab over to the day and year as the date is filled in. Using this field will display the newest news item for that date or, if there is no news item for that date, it will display the next previous news item.
Press the CLEAR key or overtype the option with 'X' to exit from the news facility.
