Requesting or Updating IP Addresses
LAN administrators may request new IP address assignments by sending e-mail to "ncc@siu.edu" and including the following information:
Total number of addresses requested
- Building and room number associated with each address
- The username or service/function that is associated with each address
This information will be entered into a service request database for the DNS administrator. New addresses are generally issued in one to two working days.
There are instances when computers and/or people will be moved between rooms. LAN administrators are responsible for notifying the DNS administrator when these changes occur.
