Network ID Password Change Requirements Summary

- Starting September 19, 2005, every Network ID password must be changed at least every 120 days.
- On September 19, 2005, Network ID passwords that have not been changed within the last 120 days will be locked.
- All password functions are directly reachable through quicklinks on the SIUC Information Technology webpage at http://www.infotech.siu.edu/
- If users do not change their password at least every 120 days, their account will be locked and cannot be used until unlocked.
- If an account is locked due to password expiration, users can unlock it themselves within 120 days of the lock date by using the relevant quicklink on the SIUC Information Technology webpage at http://www.infotech.siu.edu/. After unlocking their account, the user must change their password or their account will be re-locked.
- If an account is locked due to password expiration for 18 months, then it will be removed from the system.
