Computer Support CenterAbout the CSC
The IT/ Computer Support Center serves the faculty, students and staff of SIU. The CSC provides call desk support, walk-in technical support and e-mail support. We work very closely with IT-Network Engineering and Housing to assist all students in getting connected to the campus area network (RezNet from the Residence Halls). CSC staff members assist faculty, staff and students with their personal laptop configurations by appointment.
The CSC establishes and maintains relevant microcomputer documentation, evaluates operational needs, researches and consults regarding computer hardware requirements, software, and accessories. The CSC establishes and maintains documentation standards for new and existing applications and hardware configurations. We provide support and assistance on network, RezNet, and dial-up configuration and support along with software and hardware installation and operation questions and support. We provide technical support for all campus-wide site license applications as well as AIS and CICS. Staff members write and produce the campus IT newsletter "DawgBytes," provide the SalukiWare CD, and maintain web pages. The staff actively participates in the SOAR (Student Orientation, Advisement and Registration) program. We maintain the log of all current LAN administrators across campus.
The CSC is housed In the Northwest Annex, Building A, Room 137A.
